A couple of months ago I was on an afternoon stroll at the Avenue Forsyth and spotted a great new place called Straw Dog. Curious with the name, I went in to check it out. The store boasts a great collection of dressy pieces to casual ones. I was thrilled because last week I needed a last minute dress for the Mayors' Ball. & I automatically thought of going back to Straw Dog. While I frantically looked around, I was patiently assisted by the owner Scott Sweeden and in less than a half hour I found my perfect little black dress by Max and Cleo. Thanks Scott for being such a gentleman and for providing a world class service.
In the Summer of 2008 Straw Dog opened its doors to the Cumming area and introduced a range of hip & trendy selections to its 2,000 sq.ft store that caters to men, women, girls and boys. The sizing starts at 7/8 for boys/girls and goes up to a size 12 in Women and an XL in Men. Their fantastic denim selection includes MEK, Miss Me, Sang Real, Paige Premium, Joe’s and Rock and Republic. They also offer Kensie and Kensie Girl, Max & Cleo, Johnny Was, Kersh, Karlie and BCBG for women; John Varvatos and Vintage Red for men; Hurley, Quicksilver, Wes & Willy, and Monster Republic for boys; and a huge selection of “collections” for girls including Ella Moss, T2Love, Flowers by Zoe, Roxy, Hurley Girl and Girl 98. The store showcases a great selection of local handmade jewelry by Sogno and Designs by Minna as well as new “initial” necklaces by Diana Warner. Recently Straw Dog added the Seda France toile collection of candles – which make great gifts!
